University Recreation offers personal training sessions for patrons to work one-on-one or in small groups with nationally-certified personal trainers. Trainers utilize a unique combination of equipment and body weight exercise to provide opportunities to achieve personal fitness goals. Individual, partner and small group sessions are available and are tailored specifically to meet individual needs at all three facilities.

Small Group Training Services

Small Group Training is perfect for those who want to sweat with friends. Groups of three to six people can work with one of our nationally-certified personal trainers who will create a workout program that is tailored to fit the group’s needs. Small Group Training is $50 per session, and there is no limit on how many sessions can be purchased. Each group will select a member to serve as the main point-of-contact, who is responsible for turning in all required paperwork along with payment to the Membership Office located in the Student Recreation Center. So if you’re ready for a fitness party, Small Group Training is the way to go!

MicroFit Fitness Assessment

A computerized assessment of the various components used to determine level of fitness. Basic Microfit assessment includes a cardiovascular assessment, blood pressure, skin fold body composition assessment, muscular strength test, and a flexibility test. Various other tests are available via MicroFit at the request of the individual being tested.

Bod Pod Body Composition Assessment

An assessment of body composition through the use of air displacement. The Bod Pod is a non invasive procedure that requires the individual to sit quietly for approximately 45 seconds in a specially designed chamber. The Bod Pod is one of the most accurate measures of body composition available.

Consultation

Assessment of current workout program, help with developing personal fitness goals, and development of an individualized fitness program that will help you accomplish your goals. The consultation may also include some measurements that will assist the trainer in designing your personalized program as well as determining its efficacy.
