At this time, all University Recreation facilities remain closed as The University of Alabama continues to prioritize the health and safety of our campus community during this public health crisis.  UA leaders are working diligently to determine guidelines and practices to safely resume operations.  UREC is eager to resume serving the UA community and thank you for your continued support and patience during this time of limited operations for UA.  Continue to monitor healthinfo.ua.edu for campus updates concerning COVID-19.
This closure includes all University Recreation tennis courts and fields complex.

 

The University of Alabama has four swimming pools located on campus to serve the students, faculty, and staff of the University as well as the surrounding community. The Aquatic Center is home to the University of Alabama Swimming and Diving team and is complete with an Olympic pool and diving platforms. The Natatorium houses an 8 lane 25yd pool that is available in the morning and evenings for recreation swim. These facilities allow University Recreation to offer a variety of aquatic programming including swim lessons for all ages and abilities, lifeguard training, CPR/AED training, First Aid training, lifeguard instructor training, and Water Safety Instructor training.

Educational Opportunities

University Recreation Aquatics offers a wide selection of American Red Cross Health and Safety Training Courses for students, faculty, staff, and the general community.

Swim Lessons

University Recreation’s Swim Lessons is open to full-time UA students and current University Recreation Members. We offer familiarization classes for toddlers 19 months to 3 years old, a pre-swim development class for preschoolers 3-5 years old, and swim lessons for youth age 6 years old through adults.
