University Recreation offers everything you need to keep an active lifestyle! Explore Alabama and beyond with Outdoor Recreation and the many trips they offer each semester. Rent gear from the rental shop or rent a bama bike for only $10 per month. Try your skill in one of many intramural sports such as flag football, softball, basketball, soccer, volleyball and try to win a championship! UREC supports more that 35 active sport clubs that participate in all areas of sport from paintball to women’s rugby to baseball and wrestling. Competing against other SEC schools and more, sport clubs offer a bit more serious competition than intramural sports. Our fitness services programs offers personal training, and our group exercise program offers over one hundred classes per week, from yoga and Pilates to water exercise as well. Group exercise is offered in all three UREC facilities including the Student Recreation Center, the Aquatic Center and the Student Activity Center at Presidential Village. Visit any one of our four pool within UREC, including 50M and 25yd pools at the Aquatic Center, the 25yd four-lane pool in the Student Recreation Center and the Outdoor Pool Complex, complete with a slide and a lazy river! All you need is a positive attitude and your action card. From there, you get to choose your path! We just want you to be successful, not only in the classroom, but on the court, the field, in the water, in a group ex class, on the climbing wall or whatever you choose to do!
