If there wasn’t an incredible view, did you really rock climb? Located in Cherokee Rock Village, Sand Rock is home to a variety of routes for beginning and advanced climbers alike. Though top roping is the hot attraction for this site, Sand Rock hosts an array of boulder problems and a fantastic view of the Alabama landscape. We will provide necessary climbing gear and safety preparation to ensure a good time, so come join us and make the most of your adventure outdoors!
Leave the Outdoor Rec Rental Center early (7-8 AM) and return around late evening (7-8:30 PM). Routes will be available for all levels of climbers and thorough instructions will be given to ensure the safety of all participants. A minimal of two guides will be on the trip that have ample experience with the gear and are familiar with the area.

What to Bring: Pants, t-shirt, long sleeve fleece or jacket, shoes to get to and from the site. Eat breakfast before you arrive and bring a sack lunch to eat on site. Bring money or a sack meal for the drive back to Tuscaloosa. FOOD WILL NOT BE PROVIDED ON THIS TRIP.
