As of August 17, 2018, the weight room and 25-yard pool at the Aquatic Center closed to prepare for a renovation that is anticipated to begin Fall 2018. This project will be completed in two phases with phase one including the renovation of the existing 25-yard pool to an open-air 25-yards by 25-meters facility with expanded diving area and new patron locker rooms. Phase two includes upgrades to the air-conditioning for the 50-meter natatorium, as well as deck, lighting and diving area improvements. The renovation will also include a new team suite for Alabama Swimming and Diving. During phase one of the renovation, locker rooms will be closed and only the restrooms on the north side of the facility, near the Hall of Fame, will be available. Pool deck showers are available for pre and post swim rinse only. Once construction begins, the primary entrance for the facility will temporarily move to the North Lobby off Paul W Bryant Drive. Parking spaces will be reduced but still available in the Aquatic Center lot.
While the Aquatic Center has remained a preferred choice of many patrons, these extensive renovations will allow us to provide an exceptional aquatic experience to our valued members. During the renovation period, we apologize for any inconvenience and offer our sincere thanks for your patience and support.
The pay stations are available to be used by visitors, students, faculty and staff with or without a current permit. The pay station will accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, $1 bills, and change.
