Intramural Sports General Information

The Intramural Sports Office is located in the atrium of the Student Recreation Center.

Rule 1: The Race

Section 1: Time
The race will begin at 11:00 am the day of the race at the designated location. Runners should arrive early.

Section 2: Distance
The race distance will be two miles.

Rule 2: Team

Section 1: Runners
The first 2 runners to cross the finish line for each team will be counted in the female division. The first 5 runners to cross the finish line will be counted in the male division. Each team will be awarded points according to their runners finish. Example: 1 point for 1st Place.

Section 2: Responsibilities
The team captain, coach, or runners will be responsible for picking up the numbers in the Intramural Sports Office before the race day.  The team captain will also be required to attend the captain’s meeting to pick up directions and a course map. The directions and course map will be discussed in the meeting.

Rule 3: Awards

Section 1: T-Shirts
Intramural Champion T-shirts will be awarded to the top individuals and to the scoring members of the top teams in each division.

Rule 4: Sportsmanship

Sportsmanship is an important part of intramural sports. Any player who uses foul language, violently protests a call, or curses an official or staff member, will be removed from the game and will automatically be suspended from his/her team's next game. In addition, he/she will have to meet with the Coordinator of Intramural Sports during office hours (Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) before he/she is eligible to participate again. Any player who touches an official or staff member will be placed on suspension from all Intramural activities for a minimum period of one calendar year from the time of the incident.
