If you love sports and are looking for a job on campus that has flexible hours, Intramurals Sports is the place for you. The Intramural Sports program employs over 200 students every year in various positions. All you need to do is attend one of our info sessions, listed below, and the training clinic of your choice and you're on your way.

Event Assistant

The IM Event Assistant is a leader within the Intramural Sports Program who shows a high level of commitment to its success. An Event Assistant makes decisions regarding operation of Intramural Sports with a focus on the safety of all employees, players and spectators who may be participating or attending activities. Event Assistants are charged with opening and closing activities, assisting with set-up of playing areas, signing participants in at game sites, educating participants and spectators of Intramural Sports policies and procedures, and enforcing such policies and procedures when necessary. Good attitude and customer service skills are also essential. Officiating background is a bonus. Candidates are typically identified among current intramural sports Officials. American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED training preferred, but not required. Hiring occurs at the end of each semester. Varied hours, typically evenings and late nights 15-20 hours per week available.

Supervisor

The IM Sport Supervisor is a leader within the Intramural Sports Program who shows a high level of commitment to its success. A supervisor has the authority to make decisions regarding the safety and well being of all employees, players, and spectators who may be participating within the program. Supervisors shall always be approachable and dedicated to providing participants with the most enjoyable experience possible. Among the general responsibilities are supervising student officials and participants at game sites, evaluating officials, settling on-field and on-court rule protests when necessary, and obtaining feedback from players & spectators regarding their participation in the program. Supervisors should expect to work 15-20 hours per week. Current American Red Cross, CPR, and First Aid certification is required. Good attitude and customer service skills are also essential. Officiating background is a bonus. Candidates typically identified among current Intramural Sports Event Assistants/Officials. Hiring occurs at the end of each semester. Varied hours, usually evenings and late nights.

Program Assistant

A Program Assistant is an Intramural Sports employee who has shown leadership and dedication to the Intramural Sports program and the department. Mentoring fellow staff members through demonstration and teaching are the main goals of this position in addition to the duties of the Program Assistant areas (Marketing/Registration, Officials, Programs, and Staff). Program Assistants also serve as leaders within different areas of Intramural Sports Program with the responsibilities but not limited to: marketing all programs offered in Intramural Sports, registering participants, coordinating major sports leagues and events during the year, training officials, and scheduling staff. Candidates normally identified among current Intramural Sports Supervisors. Program Assistants are expected to work 15-20 hours per week, maintaining American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification are required. Varied hours, work is usually evenings and late nights.
