Rule 1: General Eligibility
Section 1: Participants
Participation is limited to currently-enrolled, fee-paying U of A students, faculty members, and full-time staff.
Section 2: Signing In
In order to participate in an Intramural contest each player must present their validated Action Card. All players must sign-in with the supervisor at the event site prior to the event to be eligible to participate.
Rule 2: Divisions
Section 1: Men’s and Women’s
There will be a Men’s and Women’s division in the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition.
Rule 3: Equipment
Section 1: Footballs
Footballs will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department. Participants will have the option to bring there own football.
Section 2: Tees
Tees will be provided by the Intramural Sports Department. Participants will have the option to bring there own tee.
Section 3: Men’s and Women’s Footballs
Men will be required to use a regulation football. Women may use any football that is allowed in Co-Rec football games.
Rule 4: Game
Section 1: Attempts
All individual participants will have 3 chances to punt, pass, and kick the football for distance.
Section 2: Distance Measurements
All attempts shall be measured. The longest attempt will recorded for each participant. The attempt must land inside “the zone” to be recorded.
Section 3: The Zone
The zone will have two vertical lines that are 40 yards apart. The ball must land inside these lines.
Section 4: Declaring a Winner
The participant with the highest cumulative total from each component of the competition will be declared the winner.
Rule 5: Sportsmanship
Sportsmanship is an important part of intramural sports. Any player who uses foul language, violently protests a call, or curses an official or staff member, will be removed from the game and will automatically be suspended from his/her team's next game. In addition, he/she will have to meet with the Coordinator of Intramural Sports during office hours (Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) before he/she is eligible to participate again. Any player who touches an official or staff member will be placed on suspension from all Intramural activities for a minimum period of one calendar year from the time of the incident.
