2010 Spring Break Hours

The Aquatic Center, for 50 years, has hosted UA collegiate Swimming and Diving.  Since 1959, the eight-lane, 25 yard swimming pool was home to UA swimming & Diving, today it continues to host various programs.  This multi-purpose venue provides opportunities to lap swim with friends and recreational swimming for the family.  We also support academic classes, non-credit classes, various water safety certification courses and community outreach programs.

The Don Gambril Olympic Pool has been the home of UA Swimming & Diving since 1980.  This 50 meter x 25 yard pool is primarily used for NCAA Swimming & Diving and USA Swimming sanctioned events and is thought to be one of the “fastest” competition pools in the SEC .  When not in use by our UA Swimming & Diving team, it is available to UA students, Staff/Faculty, and Aquatic Center Members.

(***Lap Swim is for swimmers over 13 years of age.***)

(The Aquatic Center may be closed and/or hours modified for swimming events, final exams and semester breaks.  The Aquatic Center is closed on home football games and during official University vacation or holidays.  UA Students have access with a valid ACTion Card.  Aquatic Center Memberships are available to UA Faculty/Staff, Alumni, and the University community.  Visit the Aquatic Center Office for membership information. )

Aquatic Programs extend beyond the Aquatic Center with year-round opportunities at the Student Recreation Center.   Indoors is a four-lane, 25 yard multi-purpose pool.  Come swim for fitness, for fun, join an aerobics class or take a beginner or intermediate swim lesson.
