Physical Therapy
Physical Therapists work one-on-one with a variety of patrons to ensure the quickest road to recovery following illness, injury, or surgery. Individualized treatment plans are used to improve mobility and flexibility, reduce pain, restore function and help prevent further disability. The most important item, however, is facilitating the individual's return to activity. Physical therapists work in conjunction with physicians and athletic trainers to ensure each person can make the quickest return to activity possible.

Champion Sports Medicine is a premiere Sports Medicine Facility that is housed within the University of Alabama's Student Recreation Center. This state of the art facility is over 200,000 square foot and is made-up of a wide variety of cardiovascular, strength, fitness, and aquatic equipment. Outside of the facilities is 29 acres of multi-purpose fields that can be utilized for individualized physical therapy protocols. Athletic Training
An important component of the Sports Medicine Team is the Athletic Trainer which works with physically active individuals on a daily basis. An athletic trainer will work with organizations to develop protocols to prevent athletic injuries, maintain health and well-being of members, the recuperation and rehabilitation following illness, injury, or surgery of all players. An Athletic Trainer is an integral part in developing a complete sports medicine program specialized to your needs.

Champion Sports Medicine has designed its outreach approach around the uniqueness of the Student Recreation Center. It has worked with University Recreation to provide coverage to not only Intramurals and Sport Clubs but to every student and patron that utilizes the facility. Athletic Trainers are available on a daily basis and by appointment to provide individual evaluations. This service is FREE to the patron and supported by Champion Sports Medicine and University Recreation. The Athletic Trainer will work with an individual to evaluate a specific condition and then refer them in the proper direction to receive the necessary care. These referrals can include home exercise programs, urgent care facilities, or even local physicians. Champion Sports Medicine has developed a network of healthcare professionals. This allows its employees to expedite treatment and care by providing priority appointment scheduling with local physicians.

As an additional feature of the Sports Medicine Program, Champion Sports Medicine is now offering athletes and teams the opportunity to participate in programs designed to meet the specific needs of the individual or group. Sports Enhancement Training Programs, which include Strength and Conditioning, Speed-Agility-Quickness, Golf Performance Training, The Female Athlete and ACL prevention, and Video Analysis for Baseball Pitchers, can provide the competitive edge necessary to succeed at any level of participation.

Intramural Athletics
Champion Sports Medicine has worked in conjunction with University Recreation to provide an Athletic Trainer to cover all university sanction intramurals. Athletic Trainers are onsite for all intramural activities to provide services to all participants. The athletic trainer is available for preventative taping (at cost to participant), injury evaluation and treatment, and medical referrals as necessary to help ensure the safety of all participants.

Sport Clubs
In addition to the care provided to Intramurals Champion Sports Medicine also provides coverage to the University of Alabama Sport Clubs. Athletic Trainers are available for practices, home events, and some away contests.

Recreational Activities
In addition to covering the more traditional athletic events that occur at the Student Recreation Center, Champion Sports Medicine also provides an Athletic Trainer to cover every day recreational activities. These activities include group exercise, open recreation, cardiovascular workouts, weight training or any other activity you may participate in at the Student Recreation Center. The Athletic Trainer is available for consultation for all of your ailments from overuse to acute injuries.
